Cool. I didn't see any tech info on it; as far as the quality of the speaker. I would assume that it would be water resistant, ect., ect. If so, I'm there! Love riding with my tunes.....

After testing riding with my MP3 player and headphones on a few rides this summer, I decided that I don't feel safe enough in traffic or even the bike path with headphones on. I am deaf on one side so that complicated matters further.

So ... I just purchased the iH85B Bike to Beach Bicycle Speaker mentioned above by FloridaBiker. Took it on my commute today and it works great! Got quite a few stares from pedestrians as I approached them. Maybe it was the gangster rap I was playing ... lol.

Some observations:

1. Speaker is just loud enough to hear over heavy city traffic and great sounding on quiet stretches of road. Not much bass but very clear sound.

2. Comes with a remote control that mounts to your handlebar or stem and a custom bottle cage with specific sized holders for different models of iPods. I experienced no issues with the cage or remote coming loose over rough patches of road.

3. You need to have a frame large enough to accommodate 2 cages/water bottles or else choose between tunes or going thirsty. I have a 55CM frame on my Novara Randonee touring bike and I had to fiddle a bit to get both cages to fit but worked out OK.

4. As mentioned, it only works with iPods so I borrowed my son's since I have a Sansa MP3 player.

5. Unit is powered by 4 AA batteries rather than a re-chargeable unit. The remote uses 2 X CR2032. Not sure how many hours the batteries will last but I should know in a few days. That will determine whether or not to purchase a set of Enerloop rechargeables for the base unit. I intend to use this almost every ride.

Hope that helps anyone considering this product.
